This online CEU course is designed for nurse practitioners and physician associates seeking continuing education to enhance their knowledge of tuberculosis. Together, we'll focus on the global and national impact of TB, as well as best practices for its prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Participants will learn how to:
- Differentiate between TB disease (TB) and TB infection (TBI)
- Explain US guidelines for TB screening and testing
- Discuss the care cascade for TB infection
- Identify high-risk populations for TB infection and describe the risk of progressing to TB disease
By the end of the course, healthcare professionals will be equipped with the basic knowledge of TBI and TB to increase awareness and improve patient outcomes.
